GHS SAFETY TRAINING FOR NEW HAZCOM UPDATE DUE DECEMBER 2013
 
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration(OSHA) Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) 29 CFR 1910.1200 (General Industry)and 29 CFR 1926.59 (Construction Industry) call for the development of a hazard
communication program when employees may be exposed to any chemical in the workplace under normal conditions of use or in a foreseeable emergency. In 2012, OSHA revised the HCS to align with the Globally
Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). As aresult, this program has been revised to comply with the requirements of theOSHA HCS 2012. The written hazard communication program will include andaddress the following criteria in order to satisfy the minimum requirements ofthe OSHA HCS 2012:
